[First, some music to set the mood.]
[Athrun has been through many things. However, going to bed in his own bed and waking up in another bed is one thing he hasn't experienced. Nor is dealing with some woman claiming to be his mother. Like he needed that wound reopened. Best getting out of there ASAP.
Athrun found himself in an unfamiliar town. It was small and very...green. Unsure of what else to do, he decided to heed the advice he'd been given. He made his way to the Elm Pokémon Research Laboratory.
After looking in through the windows, Athrun takes a deep breath. Well, nothing's going to get done just hanging out outside. He opens the door.]

In fact, she'd just made her way to Professor Elm's laboratory herself, only to find that he wasn't there at the moment. So she'd waited for him, while doing a little poking around.
Just as she was about to open a drawer, the door behind her opened. She jumped back rather guiltily and rushed toward the newcomer. ]
Hello there~! Are you Elm-san, by any chance?
no subject
[Athrun's attention is immediately drawn to the speaker. There's no hiding the surprise on his face to see a girl close to his own age here in the laboratory, coming toward him. This causes it to take slightly longer for him to register her question.]
Er, no. I'm not Prof. Elm. I was just told to come here to meet him.
[And with his mind working as quickly as it does, he has a hunch why she'd be looking for him.]
Were you given the same instructions -- to meet him?
no subject
Hmm? [ She rocked back a little on her heel and taps her finger lightly on her lip and responded in a light tone, as if none of this was strange at all. ] Yes, actually. By a lady that was convinced she was my mother.
no subject
[That came as another surprise to Athrun. What were the odds that someone else would be in the same predicament as him, especially when the odds of being in this predicament in the first place had seemed so astronomically low?]
I found myself in the exact same situation. I woke up in a strange bed, and a woman claiming to be my mother ushered me out, telling me that a person named Elm wanted to see me.
[Could this be a kidnapping attempt aimed at Orb? Athrun doubts it. What kind of kidnapper would let their hostage roam around outdoors in a populated town?]
You don't think someone wanted to kidnap us, do you?
no subject
If they were, this took a lot of planning.
Why not wait here and hear this Elm person out?
[ A pause, as she looks around the laboratory. ... If you'd even call it one. ]
If he ever shows up, that is.
no subject
[A sigh.]
I suppose we've no other choice. There's really no available alternative. I only hope he can help.
no subject
I'm Satsuki Momoi, by the way. From Tokyo.
no subject
I'm Athrun Zala. Nice to meet you, though I'd prefer a more normal setting.

[ A young boy seemed to be with him, and they exchanged some quick words before the man in the lab coat handed the boy some sort of small ball and ushered the boy out.
She took Athrun's arm and tugged gently. ]
Shall we go ask him?
no subject
Yeah. Let's go.
[With that, Athrun takes a few steps toward the man.]
Excuse me, but might you be Professor Elm, by any chance? We had some questions we wanted to ask you.
Oh, yes, of course! You don't need to say another word. Just come with me.
[With that, Elm walks toward the rear of his lab, where a table rests. He turns to Momoi.]
...Okay, that wasn't what I was expecting to hear. He didn't even hear us out first.
no subject
Lets go see.
[ He takes them to a table where three little red-and-white balls are sitting. ]
It's dangerous out there. You can each take one of these for your journey ahead.
no subject
"These?"
Yes! Each Poké Ball contains a Pokémon. I have Chikorita, a Grass-type; Cyndaquil, a Fire-type; and Totodile, a Water-type.

Are you familiar with these... Pokémon?

started a new thread for a new 'scene'
She turns to ask Athrun a question, but quickly recoils just a little in surprise. Dear God, is that... a rat?
... A purple rat? ]
no subject
[Athrun turns to follow her gaze...okay, that was unexpected.
Then he turns to look back at Momoi. What was it with women and rodents? First Cagalli, now this girl. Come on, it's just a rat.
...An unusually large rat, but still.]
I...don't suppose you want me to handle this, do you?
no subject
Just gonna take a small step away from it. That's better... the distance helps. Relaxing a little now... ]
Oh, but wait...!
[ Pulling out her Pokedex: ]
Rattata: the mouse Pokemon. It eats everything. Wherever food is available, it will settle down and produce offspring continuously
[ That sounds gross. ]
Would you please take care of this one~?
no subject
[After examining the Poké Ball a bit, he tosses it into the air. It hits the ground, then pops open, revealing Cyndaquil.]
Cyndaquil, uh...
[...Crap. Exactly how is this supposed to work? He pulls out his own Pokédex and finds himself staring at a list of moves Cyndaquil knows at its current ability level.]
Cyndaquil, all right, use Tackle!
[Cyndaquil charges and knocks the Rattata on its back. It quickly rolls up to its feet, though, and replies with its own Tackle.]
no subject
All from a totally safe distance. Because, giant purple rats. ]
no subject
He doesn't comment, though, as the Rattata retaliates with a Tackle of its own. It hits Cyndaquil full on, but the Rattata is a few levels lower, so it's less effective.
Wow. Didn't even try to evade? Athrun will have to work on that.]
Tackle again!
[Another hit. The Rattata looks pretty battered now. This time, though, it swings its tail at Cyndaquil.]
...Huh?
no subject
I think that's Tail Whip. He's trying to reduce your defense.
Going in for a hit before he can get one in would likely be your best bet.
no subject
[Cyndaquil charges one more time. This time it catches the Rattata in the rear, sending it flying into nearby grass. It doesn't come back.]
Well. I guess that did it, huh?
no subject
If they're all going to be like that, we'll have no problems getting to the next city~
no subject
no subject
Technically we're both relying on them [ Pointing at the Cyndaquil down there. ]
no subject
[Typical for him to think of this in terms of military discipline.]
But you don't expect us to do all of the battling, right? Just like Cyndaquil and I work together, you and I also need to work together.
