*Sonico is a mixture of excited and anxious now that Athrun is actually standing in front of her. She glances behind her, towards the kitchen and the dining, then looks back at him, biting her lip gently*

Mmm. I have. For you.

*She smiles up at him, aware of a slight blush to her cheeks, she's so earnest in making him happy this way*

You've just been working so hard...So I wanted to treat you. Why don't you take a seat at the table and I'll get you something to drink?

*Sonico moves to lead the way to the dining room, which she has set the table with the best tableware. The room has been dimmed and there are candles on the table*

[Athrun's eyes widen in surprise. He hadn't expected this.]

You...you didn't need to go to that much trouble just for me.

[Ever the humble one. All the same, he follows Sonico into the dining room.]

...Wow. You really poured your heart into this.

I know, but I wanted to... I wanted you to know that I know how hard you've been working, and that I think...you deserve to rest.

*She smiles slowly at his comment and blushes softly. Sonico gestures a hand to one of the chairs, then disappears to the kitchen. There are jugs of water on the table, but Sonico returns soon with two glasses of sparkling wine*

[Getting the cue, Athrun takes his seat in the chair that Sonico had gestured to. He watches the doorway into the kitchen, then smiles when she returns with the wine.]

If I didn't know any better, I would think it was my birthday with how much you're going out with this.

Well, it's not quite your birthday yet.

*She smiles as she leans over the table to hand him his glass*

For that I suppose I'll have to find something different to do to treat you.

*Sonico takes a quick sip of hers and settles it at her place opposite his*

Time for the first course!

*In five minutes Sonico returns from the kitchen carrying two plates each with a bit of salad, some bread, and some pate*

Here we are. Just a little something before the main course.

*Sonico stands close to him as she places the plate in front of him, then moves to sink into her own*

[Athrun gladly takes his glass from Sonico and takes a sip from it. The wine tastes good, and he watches Sonico head back into the kitchen, and watches her return.]

Multiple courses, even? This just keeps escalating here.

[He's still smiling, however. He begins to butter his bread first.]

Yes. There's a starter, a main course, and dessert.

*Sonico smiles as she picks lightly at the salad with her fork. Then she suddenly looks back up at him in concern*

That is, if that's okay with you.

I think that's irrelevant at this point. It would be terrible to waste it, even if I didn't want it.

But I do, so don't worry.

[It actually makes Athrun very happy to know that Sonico went to these lengths to do something nice for him. He really feels loved as he begins eating his bread.]

Oh. Well, that's good. I'm glad...

*Sonico smiles and continues to eat her starter for a moment. But after a few minutes there's a beep from the kitchen and Sonico jumps off from her chair*

Ah! That's the main course! It must be ready! I'll be back in a few minutes with the next course. If you're ready?

Go ahead. You don't need to wait on my behalf.

[Athrun finishes off the bread and gets to work on his salad in the meantime.]

*So she disappears off into the kitchen. It takes her a little longer than she estimated, but eventually she returns with two plates in her hands. The meal is a hearty one - simple, but hopefully tasty: some roast chicken with vegetables and roast potatoes. She walks carefully so she doesn't drop anything, then puts the plate in front of him, then sits down with her own*

There we are. The main course.

[Athrun's eyes widen as he sees Sonico carry the main course out of the kitchen, and soon he's smiling again. His gaze follows the meal until it lands on his table.]

Oh, this looks delicious! Thank you.

[He immediately cuts off a piece of the chicken and sticks it into his mouth. Judging by the happy expression on his face, he enjoys the flavor.]

*Sonico lifts her cutlery but watches Athrun for a few moments to wait for his reaction. When he looks pleased, Sonico's face lights up and she finally starts to eat her own - but much more slowly*

You're very welcome...

[Once Athrun swallows, he smiles again.]

It tastes as good as it looks.

[He then immediately puts a second piece in his mouth.]

*Sonico pauses in her eating as he makes his compliment, and she beams at him brightly, cheeks flushed*

Oh! I'm so glad you like it! Think you'll be hungry for dessert, or would you like to wait a while? More wine, maybe?

Let's see how I feel once I eat all this. As it is, I'm leaning toward maybe waiting on dessert, but we'll see. I'm fine for now, though.

[With that, Athrun continues working away at his meal at a moderate pace.]

*Sonico nods and continues to eat her food, though she is a bit slower than Athrun. She still feels very nervous about all this, worried that he might suddenly bite into something horrible. Instead of eating in silence, Sonico thinks it might be a better idea to try talking*

So...how was work?

[Athrun looks up, swallowing his current mouthful of food.]

Tiring. They kept me busy from the moment I arrived until the moment I left with a wide array of tasks. From paperwork to drills to simulation training.

[There was more than that, as well, but certain things were classified information, even to Athrun's girlfriend.]

How was your day?

*Sonico is used to the fact that Athrun can't tell her much about his work. Still, she nods to show she's listening and that she understands*

My day was okay. I was lazy and slept in this morning but then..well, I decided to get all of this prepared for you.

It's worth sleeping in if it means you are well-rested.

[That's a very specific "you" Athrun means there. He knows how important a good night's sleep can be for a college student, having started upon that road himself back when he was younger.]

Though I hope it wasn't too much work.

[sonicosuper]

*Sonico smiles at him sweetly for his comment, but she shakes her head gently as she puts down her cutlery*

It was okay. Besides, you seem to be enjoying it and it's..been some time since we ate together like this.

*They had both been so busy after all. A nice meal together was worth all those hours in the kitchen*

You're right. We don't have time like this every day to spend in such a way.

In a way, that makes it all the more special. Really, thank you for this.

[sonicosuper]

*Sonico smiles across the table at him for a moment or two before getting up and starting to clear the plates*

You're welcome...darling.

[Once Athrun finishes eating, he stacks his own plates and puts the silverware on top. Even if Sonico won't let him help clear the table and put the dishes into the dishwasher, he can still make her job easier on her.

However, when she does walk over to where he is, he places a hand on her shoulder and pulls her in for a short, but firm, kiss on the lips.]

*When he pulls her in for a kiss Sonico smiles, and returns the kiss once, then again. Then she leans back to pick up the dishes and glances towards the kitchen*

I need to clear up now, but I'll be back soon and we can have a relaxing time on o softer seat?
