[Both the Asuno family and the Sonozaki family have roots in the aristocracy. The families have both fallen on some harder times, although Flit Asuno, the current Asuno family head, has been rebuilding his family's legacy through his own scientific and military accomplishments.
Asemu and Shion have been engaged for nearly fifteen years. They only met twice, both times when they were both very young. Asemu doesn't recall those memories very well, but he does know that they were good memories, memories of playing together and having fun.
[ Shion may have changed significantly since Asemu's last visit. Largely due to how rebellious she has been. The Sonozaki family is one of pride and traditions, one where having a twin to the heir was a disastrous. Marrying Shion off has started feeling like their only option now: Forcing her to settle down and tying her to a family, in hopes that she'll settle down.
Their hopes fall in place with Shion's. Once married, she'll have just a bit more freedom. So Shion has been a good girl about putting on a nice white dress and doing her hair up. She was even pretty good about picking out matching shoes, those those may be closer to sneakers than dress shoes. Who cares, right? The dress is long enough. No one is around to supervise her as she comes to the door, putting on her best aristocratic act. ]
Ah... A, are you... Asemu? [ Fake timidness all around. Perhaps not like the energetic child she was as a kid. ] Oh, it's um me. Shion.
[Despite his attempts to put on an air of professionalism, Asemu can't help but react in surprise. The energetic young girl has grown into a beautiful young woman, although the shyness has him confused. She wasn't at all like that when they were children, at least as far as he can remember, but the subject matter could be the cause of that.]
Uh...oh, yeah! Yeah.
[Time to hop to his feet. He reaches out to take her hand.]
Yeah. It's me. It's really been a while, huh? Almost fifteen years, right?
Ah, but, um. Is it okay if we sit down? I think we'd be more comfortable like that.

That just serves to make him more nervous. He's meeting his future wife for the first time in over a decade, and he's not sure how much she has changed. He's wearing a custom white version of the Federation's marine corps uniform with a captain's insignia -- a privilege and a rank he earned on the battlefield -- as he arrives at his fiancée's home. He knocks, is admitted, and is led into the living room, where he waits for her to show up.]
