PSL Post - Athrun Zala and Asuna Yuuki

Mm. Yes. It's what I'd like to see, too. [She looks down from her robot and back at Athrun, then.] Where do we start here? Training exercises?

The first thing I'd like to do is see the pilots here in action. Some drills, maybe a mock battle or two.

I can arrange that for tomorrow, I think.

[She is the flight leader. Not the base's CO, but she has some pull on training and the like, despite her age. Commander Kayaba is the one in charge of the base and he makes the best simulations too!]

You have that kind of authority around here?

[Color him surprised. He figured he'd have to go to the base commander.]

Commander Kayaba leaves a lot of that to me, actually.

[infinitejustice]

He does? Then what does he take care of himself?

[fencerflash]

The logistics and the like. He says I'm better at it, and having me command the squad is better for morale.

[She pauses, hesitating for a moment.]

He... said it boosts morale, to see a Natural ace in charge.

[infinitejustice]

To see a Natural ace...wait a minute, you're not saying he's a Coordinator, are you?

[fencerflash]

No, no. It's... more like he thinks that having a young ace, rather than a middle-aged officer, as the public face boosts the base's morale. He's a Natural, too.

[She pauses, thoughtfully.]

But, Commander Kayana isn't much of a pilot. He's better than he lets on at strategy and tactics, though.

[infinitejustice]

...Oh. I see. Still, I suppose I'd ask.

[After all, Athrun has personal experience with the Earth Alliance using Coordinators from the First Bloody Valentine War.]

At any rate, I suppose his delegation should allow us to expedite things. Before we do any mock battles, though, I definitely want to see how the team performs in drills.

[fencerflash]

[Asuna nods her head.]

I imagine it happens. Coordinators in the Earth Alliance forces.

[She looks up at that, then she nods her head. Easily done, she thinks. And hopefully they can impress him.]

I'll arrange for it, then.

[Athrun pauses. Did she not know about Kira?]

Good. Perhaps I ought to leave you to that, then?

[He's curious, but he figures he can always ask later.]

Sure. I'll get it taken care of. 0900 tomorrow, let's say?

[infinitejustice]

Sure. That'll be a good way to start the day, both for the pilots and for me.

[fencerflash]

[Asuna smiles at that. It will be good -- to get them working, to do something, instead of look at how undermanned they are. She nods.]

Then I'll see it done.

[infinitejustice]

In that case, I'll see you later. I enjoyed talking with you.

[Athrun begins to back away. He had more people to talk to and parts of the base to inspect, after all.]
