[Ky is nervous. He has every reason to be. His future wife will be arriving any minute.
Ky has no memories of her, even though his mother told him that they knew each other as toddlers. And their mothers had been old friends. Unfortunately, as fate would have it, Ky's mother would not live to see the day, though. Even more unfortunate was that she couldn't give her sun any advice on this matter.
In all honesty, this should have occurred sooner, but with the war and Ky's role in it, there simply was never an opportunity to do it. But now the war has ended, and Ky has emerged from it alive, healthy, and with a Legion of Honour to his name. It was time for life to pick up where it had left off.
[ Shannon had her reservations. Perhaps naturally so, for despite the fact that she had known about this arranged marriage for quite some time now, she did not know this boy.
She dreamt of meeting a boy whom she could make her dreams from true with. She'd dreamed of the same romance that her classmates and few friends had. She hadn't dreamed of this.
Stepping out of the car with a suit case in hand, she bites her bottom lip, looking to her mother warily. ]
Y... Yes, uhm.... that is... [ She looks around, fighting the urge to lower her head in defeat ] ... Thank you. I'll be fine.
[ Her mother was insistent that this would be what was best for her. Her mother always worked hard for her happiness. Was this... part of that, too? ]
[Ky could hear the car from where he was seated in the living room, and a quick glance out the window confirms that it is indeed there. Immediately, he stands up, walks over to the front door, and opens it.]
H-hello. Welcome.
[A hint of nervousness appears in his voice and facial expression, try as he might to hide it. Even so, he attempts to put on a friendly smile for Shannon.]
[Well, there was one concern crossed off his list -- she's a pretty woman. Ky is by no means a superficial person, but he does feel that physical attraction is important to a successful marriage.]
Come on in and I'll show you where you can put your suitcase. I also have tea prepared.
No. I have some delicate objects that I clean myself, but I hire a cleaning service to take care of everything else. However, I do decide where furniture and the like goes myself.
Oh. Well, it really isn't necessary, since I have more than enough money to afford the cleaning service I've been using. You can be free to pursue other pastimes here.

The meeting was arranged for Ky's house, and his fiancée was due to arrive within the hour. He had taken out his dress uniform for the occasion and prepared the stove for tea, changing the kitchen table's tablecloth while he was at it. All that's left to do now is wait.]

[ She enters in the house, looking around. It was quite fancy, but nothing she wasn't used to seeing by now. ]
--Your home has a very pleasant feeling to it.

[He doesn't want her to prepare tea all the time, but he's willing to share that duty.]
Ah--you think so? I'm really glad you feel that way. It feels like I've done something right.

[ She can't imagine. ]

[ She doesn't ask what objects. She doesn't see it as her business. ]

[He looks surprised. Clearly he hadn't been planning on asking her to do such a thing.]
