Yeah. That makes sense. With both things. [ After all, it wasn't like the PLANTs could really survive without Earth's resources. Also, who would want to really be the ones responsible for destroying a planet. ]

Anyway...I'm sorry that the subject keeps coming back to my past. I don't actually mean to talk about it every chance I get.

It's alright... I mean, I am the one who keeps asking you about stuff that links back to it, after all.

I suppose there's no harm if you don't mind hearing about it.

Though, if you don't mind changing tack...do you have any thoughts on what we'll find when we reach Pewter City?

More people who's every thought revolves around Pokemon?

[ Small pause, but then... ]

... Also, I think Pewter City has one of those gyms that we heard about back in Viridian. Maybe this one will actually be open.

That doesn't count. That's a given.

[Athrun can't help but chuckle at it, though.]

That's my thought, too. I'm interested to see how strong these gym leaders are.

Yeah yeah.

[ She's not really sure how she feels about the whole gym thing, but... ]

I'm assuming that they kinda need to be pretty strong. I mean, they wouldn't be in charge of the gyms if they weren't, right?

Sure, but someone being higher rank than someone else doesn't necessarily mean they're good, period. That's why I'm curious.

... I guess that's a good point. We really don't know how this whole challenge thing is even set up.

Well, however it works out, I hope beating them is within reason. The more difficult an opponent they are, the longer we may be stuck here.

[ Assuming that beating them would actually get them back home, of course. ]

Well, they kinda have to be beatable. I mean, there wouldn't be any point of the whole challenge if they were too strong. Though... I guess they could just hold back depending on who's challenging them?

Maybe. I guess we'll see when we get there.

[He falls silent after that. He's got nothing else to say, and he's pretty tired now.]
