[ for once, sheryl looks legitimately curious. her eyes widen at the mention of the beach, and she tries to control herself so that she doesn't smile too much at the idea.

despite the many places sheryl has gone to, and despite her fame, she's never really had much chance to relax or go to vacation spots. ]

[Athrun manages to catch Sheryl's face out of the corner of his eye. He can't help but smile at the change in attitude. And even though Sheryl's request comes off as a bit bossy, he has a feeling there's quite a bit of enthusiasm behind it. It gets him to smile, too.]

Consider it done. That's our weekend plans taken care of. Hope you've got a swimsuit.

[Athrun can feel his cheeks burning at that point. Sheryl is a gorgeous woman, and she's likely to look phenomenal in a bikini.

At this point, though, Athrun pulls off the road and into a small parking lot. There aren't a lot of other cars in the lot tonight, so he finds a good space quickly and parks the car.]

[ the show of enthusiasm quickly dies when she feels that her wardrobe is being questioned. ]

Who do you think I am? I'm Sheryl Nome. Of course I have a swimsuit!

[ a short pause as she pouts. ]

... I've never used it outside of photoshoots.

[That gets Athrun to smile. He's clearly amused by that revelation.]

...Yeah. We need to fix that.

[There's a light teasing tone to his voice. And here he thought he had limited life experiences...]

But for now, let's have some dinner.

[Athrun gets out of the car, and once again opens the passenger door to let Sheryl get out.]

I'd be more than happy to give you some swimming lessons should you need them.

[He's serious about that offer, too. He wants her to be safe when they go to the beach.]

[ She gets out of the car, legs first, then she pushes herself up and off. ]

Do people actually swim in the beach?

[ Don't people just wade in the shallow waters and play volleyball or something? That seems to be what everyone does in media. ]

[Athrun closes the door when Sheryl gets out. As they walk, he offers her his arm, if she would like to take it.]

Naturally. Otherwise they might as well go sunbathing in a park somewhere. Not to mention the lifeguards.

And it's more than just swimming. The beaches near here are popular with surfers. I've never surfed myself, though.

[So if Sheryl decides she wants to try surfing, she'll need to look up an instructor on her own.]

[ She hooks her arm with his, although he'll be able to tell that she's hesitant about if it only because her grip isn't strong. ]

I know how to swim. I've just never done it in the ocean before.

[Athrun notices, but he doesn't say anything. He can understand Sheryl's hesitance, since this was an arranged matter, after all.]

Good. That puts my mind at ease.

[Somewhat, anyway. He is glad, though. One less thing to worry about.]

It takes some getting used to, but it's not hard. You just need to learn to deal with the waves and watch out for the undertow.

Sometimes you get currents that flow out to sea from the shore, especially after high tide ends. The important thing to remember if you get caught in one is to swim out of it sideways. You just need to recognize it first, is all.

[They arrive at the door to the club, and Athrun pulls it open. He holds it for Sheryl to enter first, then follows her inside.]

[ She still doesn't get it, but it sounds bad, so hopefully, she'll never have to experience getting caught in it!

Once the door is held open for her, she enters. It's actually a really nice place, and one that Sheryl has never been to before. Considering how she always gets the special treatment in things, this is a rare feat. It's not the most amazing place she's been to, but it's captivated her, nonetheless! ]

[Athrun lets the door close behind them, then approaches the host. He lets him know about their reservation, and the host takes them to a table by a floor-to-ceiling window. The window affords a picturesque view of the city as the sun sets. By the time they leave, it'll be nighttime, and they can watch the city light up as the sun goes down.]
