First, enough following him. He was going to walk next to her. He stopped and stepped backwards until Faye was at his side. Then, he placed one warm, firm hand on her shoulder.
"It's OK. Everything will be all right now."
If he was thinking anything bad about what he had seen tonight, he wasn't showing it.

After a moment, he spoke again. "If anything, it is I who owe you an apology. We should have gone to a store."

She took a deep breath and shook her head, still not quite looking at him, "I have nothing now... I couldn't pay for it... It just - never mind..."

"Here. There's a 24-hour department store near here. We can get you some basics now, then something nicer when the boutiques open tomorrow."

Regardless of whether or not she took it, they would visit a nearby department store. After finding a set of clothing that fit Faye, Ky paid for it and brought her back to his house, which felt as warm and safe as ever.

When they got back to the house, Faye sighed deeply in relief. "Man, it must be so nice to know you can always come home to a place like this..." She blushed in her embarrassment, remembering the awful place that Ky had seen was where she lived.

"Er. Sorry, I didn't mean to show it off." He took a deep breath. "Still, my house is open to you whenever you need my company or security."
Once they were both inside, he closed the door and motioned for Faye to follow him. He led her upstairs, to one of the guest bedrooms -- specifically, the one next to his own -- and set the bags down on the bed for her. "Will this bedroom do for the night?"
Once Faye agrees or asks to pick a different bedroom, Ky had plans to take her back downstairs and offer her some soothing tea or some kind of alcohol to soothe her nerves. If she was interested.

She looked around the room and felt overwhelmed for a moment. It was such a nice room, much nicer than the place she had just left. "Thanks, Ky. This is great." She was doing her best to sound grateful, and not just a bit sad about the state of her life, still embarrassed to be there.
Faye was happy to go and spend some time with him downstairs with him, but asked if she could shower first. She felt horrible after being grabbed by that man. Once she was finally showered and in her new (simple, but somehow rather flattering) pyjamas, Faye headed back downstairs. She shoulders were bare, and she rubbed them with her hands as she greeted Ky again, "Hey. I don't mean to be a pest, but I kinda forgot to pick up a sweater or anything... Do you have something I could wear?"

While the tea was brewing, he heard Faye finish her shower and come downstairs. He looked over at her and thought for a few seconds. "I have an extra bathrobe. Would that work?" He got up from where he was sitting and started upstairs. He kept the bathrobes in the master bathroom, so that was where he was headed once he got Faye's response.

As Ky spoke, he looked Faye directly in the eyes. There was nothing in his to indicate that he was saying anything other than the truth of his feelings. At the same time, there was something more than caring about him. Perhaps...a sense of longing.

She took a deep breath as she dared herself to lean forward and press a soft kiss to his lips.

He also didn't break the kiss.
