This is the largest, most elegant ballroom you have ever seen. Overhead, golden chandeliers flicker with warm lights, which are reflected on the large, window-shaped mirrors on the walls. A beautiful wooden dance floor sat in the center of the room, with ornately-decorated tables all around it. In the back is a pair of glass doors leading to a balcony that overlooks some gorgeous scenery.

Lacus Clyne? I know her. We made our debut the same year ... but she disappeared so suddenly.

She did. It was for political reasons. That's why she holds a political office now.

She is an amazing girl. It was a little sad to lose such a great rival, but I suppose she found something else to love.

Maybe I will. If I can really find the time. I am a very busy girl. I rarely have the luxury of an off day sadlt.

[ Even on an off day she's still working. ]

Yes, that's true. But at least a day off -- a proper day off -- will come eventually.

But the production isn't the problem, Athrun Zala. It is me. I love my job and I can't seem to stop working.

I understand that. But sometimes we need a break, even from the things we love. No person can work at something incessantly.

If I do ask for a day off ... would you make it worth my while?

[A bit of pink crept into his cheeks. He was a bit aware of the usual implications.]

[ She pokes his cheek and giggles. ] You're blushing ...

[He raises his hand to push hers away.]

You are. Mr. Veteran is actually blushing. Hnm ... how cute.

Hey, come on! This is a formal event!

[ But this is so much fun. ] Nobody is looking. Don't be so shy ...

Maybe it isn't, but it is nice to see you not looking so serious.

[ Unfortunately, despite this conversation being the most entertaining part of the night ... it looked like it was almost time to go. Grace was signalling her that it was at least. ]

It looks like you won't be playing bodyguard for me tonight.

[ She gives him a quick kiss on the cheek. It was going to get people talking, but then again --- her career was also built on rumors like that. ]
