Well... at least that makes one of us.

[ There's a rustling sound nearby, and Yukari turns towards it, staring for a few moments. But nothing seems to come out of wherever it came from, so she just sighs and turns back to Athrun. ]

Still think I'm going to be a lot more comfortable once we're out of this forest though.

All the more reason to keep moving.

[No sooner does he finish saying that then they're immediately challenged by two wild Pokémon -- a Caterpie and a Weedle.]

But it looks like we'll have to deal with this first. Go!

[Athrun sends his newly-caught Pidgey out to fight this time.]

[ Yukari doesn't even have time to react to what he said before the bugs were upon them again. Since unlike Athrun she didn't have any other options, she sent out Bulbasaur. ]

I think I remember them saying that the yellowish one is poisonous. Let me handle that one!

[ Bulbasaur was supposedly immune to being poisoned, which would possibly make it a lot easier for her than Atrhun's Pidgey. At least if it ended up being a long fight, anyway. ]

Better yet, let's focus it down before it can poison either of our Pokémon. The fewer Antidotes we have to use, the better.

[Immediately, Athrun orders Pidgey to attack the Weedle.]

That's... not really necessary. Bulbasaur's immune to poison.

[ Still, she's going to have him attack the Weedle to, just because at this point getting rid of it seemed like it'd be the better option. ]

True, but neither of my Pokémon have the same benefit. It might try to ignore Bulbasaur.

[The combined effort is enough to bring down the Weedle, though the Caterpie has an opening to attack Bulbasaur's flank.]

[ Yukari shakes her head, before realizing what the Caterpie is trying to do. ]

Bulbasaur! Look out!

[ The warning is a bit too late though, as the Caterpie slams into Bulbasaur. And manages to just make it stagger back a little before turning it's attention towards it again and charging forth some more. ]

Pidgey, take care of that!

[Pidgey immediately dive bombs the Caterpie, knocking it off its feet and away from Bulbasaur.]

Now's our chance!

Thanks! Bulbasaur, tackle it again.

[ And with that command, Bulbasaur tackles the Caterpie back into the ground before it could attack again. But there was one more thing that they could do, right?

Yukari grabs a pokeball, throwing it the Caterpie. Like Athrun's attempt to capture the Pidgey, it isn't long before the pokemon is caught. ]

[Athrun watches as Yukari catches the Caterpie. He can't help but grin a little bit.]

I see you're not one of those women who's terrified of bugs. Good to know.

[ Yukari smiles right back at him, moving to pick up the pokeball of her newly caught pokemon. She's still not completely sure about this, but... it's something that they had to do here, right? It wasn't like Bulbasaur could handle everything himself. ]

Honestly, it really depends on the bug. Even if I were afraid of some of them, this one's just a little bit too cute to get that reaction.

I think that's the first time I've ever seen a girl call a bug cute.

[Still teasing, though he seems to be pleased.]

Might there be some anticipation for when it reaches maturity?

It'll probably turn into a butterfly or something.

[ That would logically make sense. Not that it necessarily was what was going to be true. ]

But yeah, it's really a lot more adorable than it should be. And a lot bigger. Oddly enough I think that might help with the whole it being cute thing.

That's what I'm thinking.

Yet another thing I never thought to hear.

[He starts walking, and urges her on.]

I think I'd like to try to catch one of the poisonous ones. Could come in handy.

Honestly... it's not really something I'd ever thought I'd say.

[ Sure, she wasn't afraid of bugs, but they could still seem disgusting. But it just seemed like the pokemon was different somehow. ]

... Well, I guess they could. I mean, I haven't really seen Bulbasaur use any poison moves yet, so I don't know how well it'd actually work out.

To be fair, Charmander hasn't used any fire moves, either. Hopefully it will come in time.

Yeah, I guess they just haven't... figured all of that out yet.

[ Though now she had to wonder just how pokemon really learned moves anyway. It might be natural, but... somehow it didn't seem to be just that simple. ]

Or something.

[Athrun stops as two Weedle emerge from the tall grass.]

Well, here we go. With any luck I'll have one of these caught.

[Out comes Charmander.]

Well, good luck.

[ Yukari motions for Bulbasaur to go join Charmander since he's still out, and he immediately charges towards he nearest Weedle without even needing a command. ]

[And after this battle ends, Athrun is up one Weedle and his Charmander has learned Ember. At the moment he's healing up his new catch.]

Well, now things should get quicker.

[ Yukari's smiling as she's trying to patch up her Caterpie. Trying being the operative word, because well, it's trying to wiggle out of her hands whenever she's trying to apply the potion to it and instead trying to basically tackle hug her. The potion probably stung or something... or maybe he wasn't all that hurt. It was one of those answers, anyway.]

Yeah. Having him actually able to use a fire move will definitely help out a lot. Now if only this little guy would actually let me use the potion on him so we can leave.

Yeah, I noticed it doesn't like to stay still.

[He's actually kind of amused, though he would like to keep moving.]

Would you like a hand?

Please. That'd be a big help.

[ Yukari does manage to get her Caterpie to sit still now. But... she had to drop the potion bottle to do it, since she needed both of her hands to do so. If only because she needed to basically pet it to keep it still. ]

Of course. I'll take the Potion, in that case.

[Athrun reaches down and picks up the Potion, then carefully sprays Yukari's Caterpie with it. Since it can't move, the Potion makes contact and does its job.]

[ Once that's done, Yukari smiles as she looks down at the small pokemon. ]

See, that wasn't so bad, was it?

[ Her hands still petting the creature, and she's not exactly sure but it seems like it's letting out content sound... before it turns around and starts trying to climb up her arm, which gets a giggle out of her before she starts to help it up. ]

Okay. Okay. You can stay out of that ball for a little while.
